Serving Notice for May 2, 2014

Employers Resource Association recently named DAWN HAYS as director and counsel for the Columbus office. She will provide legal compliance services and training to ERA members and will serve as counsel to the Association while managing and representing the Columbus office. Dawn is a former member of the Columbus Bar Board of Governors.

BEGINNING immediately, Franklin County Common Pleas Court (General Division) will be utilizing interpretation services (when required) for emergency ex parte hearings on Civil Stalking Protection Orders.

A telephonic interpreting service provider is able to provide interpretation for all non-English languages except Spanish. For Spanish interpreting requirements in ex parte hearings, the court will use a local vendor. While that is not expected to cause a significant delay, the court will need to contact that vendor and schedule their arrival in order to provide interpreters in Spanish language. For American Sign Language interpreting needs, the court has two vendors; however, it will be more challenging to arrange ASL interpreting on short notice. If an ASL vendor is unavailable the same day, the court will offer claimant(s) the option of using a laptop to type statements/questions/responses or paper to write out their communications.

Please feel free to contact Deputy Court Director Jennifer Goodman, (614) 525-4147, Stacy Worthington or Sheila Brown of court staff, or CSPO courtroom staff members at (614) 525-3152, if you have any questions.
